This Advisory Leaflet regulates the proceedings in the classification and assessment of the constructional/operational condition of drainage systems within the scope of the overall process of rehabilitation. To do so, a gerneral chapter bindingly names the requirements of condition classification and assessment in form of essential prerequisites, fundamentals, working steps and results presentations irrespective of possible structures of models. An informative Annex presents a possible assessment model as an example.

La necesidad de tratar las aguas residuales para ser reutilizadas es, sobre todo, importante en el plano internacional. En las necesidades crecientes de información se reunieron el grupo de trabajo "Water Reuse" dentro de la DWA. Una de las tareas es la identificación y descripción de las etapas de tratamiento en la reutilización del agua. Dentro del grupo se elaboró una matriz en la que las técnicas de tratamiento de aguas residuales son expuestas y evaluadas, con el objetivo de reutilizar el agua.

DWA-M 801 provides you with guidelines in the form of exemplary models of management systems, process descriptions, process classifications and documentation systems. Thus enabling you to design your own professional management systems. Classification of such customised systems is possible by cross-linking or synchronising the features with the requirements of DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 and DIN EN ISO 14001, as shown in the appendix, allowing with that certification in accordance with these two norms.

The DWA Working Group WI-4.2 has elaborated DWA-M 804 in order to give useful information for the safeguarding of the quality and efficiency with the planning, construction surveillance and operation of wastewater and waste disposal facilities. In Appendices this publication offers helping checklists for planning, construction, operation and contract management. Duties and responsibilities of third parties are also performed.

Benchmarking is an instrument for the optimisation of the technical and commercial processes. It has, as objective, the increase of customer satisfaction, quality, security of supply and disposal. Criteria for a successful benchmarking in water management are summarised in this Advisory Leaflet. These are based on common experiences from projects in which benchmarking has been applied as instrument for the determination of position and for the identification of improvement potential as well as the implementation of measures derived therefrom and whose assessment of effectiveness has been applied.
